The benefits of HDMI are crystal clear

Electronics consumers are always on the lookout for the best way to receive high quality picture and sound

HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cabling is an industry supported way of guaranteeing a stunning audio/visual experience

Its 19-pin digital connection offers users an uncompressed all-digital interface besides fantastic compatibility all through just one cable.

This technological advancement has improved the quality and functionality of cabling, the essential unsung hero connecting a plethora of electrical items in any household or office

The rise of LCD TV and HDMI affords the user a flexible method of receiving high quality picture and sound; thanks to these developments, this is fast becoming the norm

The notable success of HDMI in relation to products such as Microsofts Xbox 360® games console has enhanced its reputation as the premier link between LCD TV, Plasma TV and gaming device

Of course, consumers want the best and there are a number of bespoke cabling solutions on the market

A gamer wants to feel every bump on the track and hear the roar of the engine while playing a racing game; a film lover will want to gasp in awe as King Kong rises up and sports fans watching the game want to see crisp close-up expressions that fully capture their favourite athlete or teams agony and ecstasy.

You dont, however, have to break the bank to achieve the desired effect

There are companies out there with a wealth of experience: they often work in tandem with manufacturers to provide quality cabling solutions that get the job done at a fraction of the price

The increasing versatility of HDMI has also seen longer leads introduced, further reducing the need for multiple cables and clutter

Other compatible products, such as wall plates, offer smart connectivity for businesses besides the ability to create a great impression with high quality presentations and displays

High speed HDMI wall plates with Ethernet specification are designed and tested to handle video resolutions of 1080p and above, including advanced display technologies such as 4K, 3D, Deep Color, plus an additional, dedicated data channel, known as the HDMI Ethernet Channel, for device networking if both linked devices are HDMI Ethernet Channel-enabled.
Furthermore, one of the main strengths of HDMI is that its a technology with capacity to spare and an ability to accommodate advancements well into the foreseeable future

As an example, HDTV currently only uses half of HDMIs available 5 Gbps bandwidth

With the ability to support older and emerging technologies, its no surprise that HDMI has become the leading interface, supported by electronics manufacturers, film producers and the gaming industry alike
As technology advances further and more improvements are made, the High Definition Multimedia Interface will no doubt continue to display its adaptability while refusing to compromise on quality

Carbon reduction for businesses: why and how

Eco-friendly - how your carbon footprint is affecting the world

The world has limited resources, and we are burning fossil fuels every day, creating greenhouse gases. All of these harmful gases have a negative effect on our environment and this is what is known as our carbon footprint which can ultimately lead to climate change.

A global problem

The negative effects on the environment are becoming increasingly apparent and thus we have seen a rise in the political agendas for making our nations more eco-friendly.

In 1997 the Kyoto protocol was formed by the UN in Japan which is an international treaty aimed at achieving a balance in the atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases. The treaty was endorsed by 187 countries, and was viewed by many as a key step towards tackling global warming.

In the UK

The UK committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2010 and a long term goal of 60% by 2050 under the Kyoto protocol. Our Government has drawn up legislation to achieve the Kyoto protocol.

In 2008 The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) was created to manage and combine both Energy and Climate Change Policy.

To date the DECC has successfully taken three Bills through Parliament.

Some of the campaigns were designed to encourage businesses to do their bit for the environment such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment Scheme.

What is the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) scheme?

The Carbon Reduction Commitment Scheme is the UK's mandatory climate change and energy saving scheme. The scheme was introduced in 2010 by the DECC under the Climate Change Act.

Businesses taking part in this scheme will buy carbon allowances based on their electricity consumption.

Organisations who qualify for the scheme have to monitor their greenhouse gas production and purchase allowances or permits to emit carbon dioxide. The more emissions they produce the more allowance they will need to buy each year.

There are monetary rewards for reducing your emissions and likewise there are fines for businesses who do not make the required energy saving.

Both public and private sector organisations are covered by the Carbon Reduction Commitment scheme. It’s expected that approximately 5,000 businesses in the UK will be a part of the scheme.

If your business has an annual electricity bill of approximately £500,000 or uses more than 6,000MWh per year of electricity, then you are affected by the Carbon Reduction Commitment scheme.

You are also eligible for the scheme if you, and any subsidiaries you may have, have at least one half-hourly electricity meter (HHM) settled on the half-hourly market.

How to reduce energy consumption

Not leaving electrical equipment on standby is one way to potentially cut your energy consumption.

Motion-sensitive lights will save energy, but the key to effective energy management is monitoring and reducing. Monitor your supply with a sub-monitoring equipment system to let you see where your power is being used, and consider installing a voltage optimiser to cut down the output voltage.

How To Train For Cabin Crew

People across the country dream of a job in the airline industry. It isn’t surprising when you consider the wealth of experience, fun and excitement that the industry can bring, along with world travel and the chance to work with people with the same passion for life.

However, it can be tricky to get a job in the airline industry. Despite the stereotype of “trolley dollies” the fact is that airline cabin crew are actually very highly trained and go through some thorough cabin crew training.

You don’t necessarily have to have training to get an airline job. Many airlines will conduct recruitment drives where they will interview both experienced and inexperienced people alike. It is possible then to fill a vacancy. They will then provide you full and thorough training which is free of charge and will get you up to their required standard.

Airlines do prefer experienced people though for obvious reason. This can provide a problem if you have never worked in the airline industry before. It’s a hard cycle to break. You need experience to get the job, but you can’t get experience because nobody will give you a job! It can be very disheartening and many people give up.

There are companies that have a solution to this though. They understand that there are plenty of people out there who are ideal for air cabin crew but simply don’t yet have the experience to get some of the better jobs. This is why they provide cabin crew training.

Cabin crew training will allow you to pay a relatively small fee to complete a basic cabin crew training program prior to an interview. This means you can apply for a job with some training qualifications. Although you still won’t actually have any real life experience, the airline will see that you already have some of the basics covered.

The benefit of this is two-fold. The first thing is that the airline see you as having some experience and in need of less training which makes you much more employable than the next person who walks through the door who has no experience whatsoever. The second way it helps is that it shows that you have a drive to succeed. The fact that you have gone out and paid for training out of your own money prior to even getting a job shows true drive and determination.

Airlines look for people with these qualities. It shows that you are prepared to get the job done and it shows that you are committed to giving the job a proper go. This will make you stand out from the inexperienced staff. Believe it or not, it will even help you to stand out from some of the people who already have experience too.

There are training programs across the UK It normally takes place nearby to airports but not all the time. Always use a company that has fully qualified staff. You will also want to make sure that they are going to award you an internationally recognised teaching qualification on completion. This will carry much more weight in an interview.

So, if you are thinking of getting into the airline industry then consider a cabin crew training program. It can really advance your airline career.
